The Cabin In The Woods Review
Justin and I saw The Cabin In The Woods on April 14, 2012. Let me just say that the trailer is completely different than what you will end up seeing. With that being said, this movie was pretty awesome!!! I honestly thought going in: Okay, a slasher movie same premise you usually will see, but no, there is actually so much going on in this movie it's incredible. Justin and I (along with the rest of the audience) were thorougly entertained throughout. There are elements of The Hunger Games, The Walking Dead, etc in this. It's a cornucopia of creativity, interesting story-telling and amazing scenes. This movie is not about the acting, but people like Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford were hilarious and diabolical at the same time. I am not going to give too much away as it would give way too much away to the premise of the movie. This is one I highly recommend to everybody. I couldn't believe half the stuff I was watching. I will say that the last 15 minutes of the movie are some of the most entertaining cinematic moments I've ever experienced. Keep your eyes peeled for an awesome cameo from Sigourney Weaver. Also, if you want a small hint about the plot: Think about the global stage and how countries compete against each other. That is all I will say about the plot overall. I did think there were some legitimate comedic moments mixed in with the story which gave the movie a perfect blend. If you want to see a movie and be entertained from the beginning, then I recommend this movie. I give it a 4/5!!! I was very impressed by the entire project. The audience reacted well to all the little twists that occure. Pay attention to most scenes because it all builds up to those last 15 minutes really well and ties everything together. WATCH THIS!!!!
It's funny, witty, original, daring, and altogether, entertaining as hell. This movie gives me faith that Hollywood is actually willing to do something outside the box in the name of entertainment. Sadly though, within the next year we'll soon be getting Saw 400 coming to theaters. Nice review.
